Missing Pandora? Well there’s GlobalPandora…for now.

Jan 15th, 2008 | By | Category: Tech & Web

There was a time when I used to have Pandora running in the background. It always got the songs that I wanted to hear at that moment right. Then one day, it become US-only.
But now there’s GlobalPandora which supposedly allows you to login using your pandora details and is available internationally. It seems to be [...]

Are you a complain King/Queen? Join the Complaints Choir Project.

Jan 15th, 2008 | By | Category: Featured

I remember seeing a video of the Helsinki Complaints Choir some time back. It was really good…entertaining too! I was wondering if Singapore would have one too..and well, it’s becoming reality.
As of the Singapore M1 Fringe Festival, the choir will be putting some performances. Apparently this Singaporean version of the choir has attracted over 60 [...]

Resetting my body clock to it’s default setting

Jan 15th, 2008 | By | Category: Featured

I was up early today. Exceptionally so because I can see my friends slowly come alive on my MSN and the “Good Morning” greetings on the ping.sg shoutbox.
On other mornings, I witness the same things too but today I can say, “I’m up early” because I actually slept earlier(and got up way too [...]

Be careful when aligning yourself with Google

Jan 14th, 2008 | By | Category: Tech & Web

Just read this piece of news where Google boots IncrediMail from their Adsense program. What’s interesting is how this affected their stock price…overnight. A $45m company one day, 30m the next.

Google clearly has a huge bargaining chip but startups are going to have to start finding ways of making [...]

The bludgeoning of hope.

Jan 13th, 2008 | By | Category: Featured

*A very rant-y post*
I got pretty pissed when I saw Jean’s entry “Students advised to transfer to ITE so as not to affect school ranking?” No, I wasn’t pissed at Jean but at the article that she raised.
The focus on ranking and KPIs are something that I’ve often debated about with some of my [...]

Bug in Facebook Mobile Makes Emails Free For All

Jan 13th, 2008 | By | Category: Featured

Apparently, someone found out a security hole on the mobile site for Facebook that makes your email address visible to anyone regardless of your security settings.
I’m sure it’ll get fixed in a jiffy. But it does remind everyone how vulnerable we are when it comes to our data privacy. Maybe it’s time more stringent measures [...]

Google Pagerank Update Again: Will PayPerPost users still be "kept out of the Internet"?

Jan 13th, 2008 | By | Category: Tech & Web

This piece of news might be of interest to those who have been anxious about their pagerank being dropped…or are just waiting for their new domain names to get a pagerank at all.
Apparently, there’s an update that’s underway. Not all the servers have been updated but it a comment left on mashable indicates that [...]

Want to get a Nobel Prize? Don’t think about it.

Jan 12th, 2008 | By | Category: Featured

It’s interesting to read that finally they’re pushing for people to follow their passion. Heh, i’m even glad that they pointed out to the students that some of the Nobel Prize winners were not straight A kids.
I really think people should go for what they love because in the end, not only will the person [...]

Glitch in CPF system results in higher take home pay for some civil servants

Jan 12th, 2008 | By | Category: Featured

Yup, more moola in their pocket. But before anyone thinks this is good news,
“To offset the extra amount which had been mistakenly added in the take-home pay, the department will recover this sum from next month’s pay.”
It’s rare that you see glitches at that level. I wonder what other non-publicised errors have occured…
Some civil [...]

Dear 2008

Jan 8th, 2008 | By | Category: Featured

Dear 2008,
We started off with a real bang didn’t we? Unlike 2007, I actually spent the eve with the family and with my newfound friends – Jean, Alice and Tianhong. And if it wasn’t wonderful enough that they were saved me a seat so that we could get a good view, we stayed out till…6am? [...]
