i do think our MRT is world class in some aspects, but definitely not world class in others.

travelling in HK, little things like having bulletins tell you what stop you're at helps. in Singapore we only live with the hard to read maps (cuz its super crowded) and the lady's voice.

but we definitely have a system that serves us to almost every corner of Singapore (YES! EVEN PUNGOL!)

i think something needs to be done about congestion..

i do agree with your explaination of the disparity of our perceptions though -)

Those people who awarded them this award must have never taken public transport before – they probably arrive at office in comfortable chauffeured cars.

If this had come out on 1 April, I’d have brushed it off as an April Fool’s joke. Now it’s just sad.

I’d have given the MTR the award if you ask me. I enjoyed my train rides in HK more — the system is so much more well-connected and thought out.
