Kiva: Ruth Mbuga's Group
Apr 27th, 2009 | By Ridz | Category: Other People
This month I got another project that cashed out. So in line with what I had set out to do, I put up another microloan to Kiva. This time it’s to a group of people.
Below is a little bit about why they needed the money:-
“Mbuga Ruth is one of the executive members of Naalya agali awamu group in Kampala. She is a businesswoman with a retail shop that she has owned for over nine years. She has seen it grow ever since she joined her group and started getting loans for business expansion.
She is married with four children who are all in boarding schools and she is grateful that she has been working hand in hand with her husband who is the Deputy Headmaster of Naalya SS.
She needs a new loan to help with recapitalizing her shop with more sugar, rice, soap and milk that she buys in large quantities for profitability. “
Shortly after I made my microloan, I received an email that the loan was ready to be disbursed to them. Over 150 people chipped in to make this happen and will probably get back their money in about 6 months after hopefully making a difference to this small group of people…who through their work, will probably make a difference to their community.
