Spreading the Poken love

Poken

And so I went to Barcamp 4 a couple of days back and after quite a bit of pressure, decided to get the free Poken they were giving out for doing the survey. Now, if you don’t know what a Poken is, it’s that cute thing in the picture(that’s now hanging off my BlackBerry). It basically allows two people to exchange contact information simply by tapping their Pokens.

I initially had a problem with the concept of using a Poken because they were being distributed to people who I pretty much already knew. It’s really not cool to just be exchanging contact information with people you already know… But then I realised that, hey, with all things someone’s got to adopt it first right?

I actually had a Pink Baby Poken but I exchanged it with Claudia for the tiger. Heh, the pink totally didn’t match my BlackBerry la.

Now i’m tempted to spread the Poken love because they’ve got this point system(you earn points for making new friends)…and I’m a sucker for points and levelling up.

Want a Poken? If you’re in Singapore, you can check out www.pickapoken.com. Otherwise, you can go to www.poken.com

I’m actually hoping they bring in the PokenPulse series which has a more sleek and professional feel(looks like a nice black thumbdrive. heh)

I don’t think i’ll be bringing it out much.
After all only 150 people in Singapore has it.

The chances of meeting the 120+ people who I have not pokened with and are still in Singapore seems to be extremely low :)

well, if you bring it out more, it’ll add to conversations and who knows…maybe more people will know about it and buy it! :)
