I can’t say I’ve had much facetime with it but for a Twitter client/game, it’s a very interesting concept. One basically signs up using twitter and is assigned a unique character that I believe is based on the general sentiment of the tweets that a user makes. The darker characters are angrier/emo while the white ones are happy?
My first impression of it is it needs to guide the users a little bit more(but then again, it is in beta so it’s alright). Once a user is in the game, he can take part in quests to ‘discover’ items for a personal collection. Participation in quests require ‘power’ which, so far, I think is replenished only by using ‘coins’. Coins are the basic currency of the game. The game rewards you with coins for helping them make tweets and basically behaving the way the gamemaker would like you to behave. Tweeting from the game also gives you experience points so that you can ‘level up’ your character.
For starters, I did a quest where all I had to do was wait for a fixed amount of time before discovering an artifact – The Newspaper. And if I tweeted my find, I would be awarded with 50 coins that I could use to then buy replenishments and upgrades. Being a Level 1 ‘newbie’, i’m not sure what the upgrade path is like but I suppose I’ll find out soon enough.
I like how it turns tweeting into a game and I’m definitely looking forward to see how interactive(and addictive) this might become. Will write more as I play it more…
For now, I’m just wondering why I’m a black character with white horn and how come “Fake PM Lee” is like a white prince.
