The London School of Business and Finance (LSBF) announced last Friday the official opening of it’s Singapore campus which is also the first in the Asia-Pacific region. Headquartered in London, LSBF has a global presence with 3 campuses in the UK, Toronto and a new campus opening in Shanghai later this year. They also have offices in 16 countries.
“Singapore is an in-demand study destination for students around the Asia-Pacific region, which is one of the main reasons why we have selected it as our entry-point into the region,” – Valery Kisilevsky, Group Managing Director of London School of Business & Finance.
The LSBF campus in Singapore will provide students with the flexibility and convenience of having access to a number of of combined programmes under one roof. Current offerings include ACCA preparatory courses on-campus and online, and the opportunity to combine this accounting qualification with the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or the Cambridge International Certificate in Financial English (ICFE) preparatory courses.
During the opening of the new school, The Royal Patron of London School of Business & Finance, Prince Michael of Kent, announced an expansion of his Emerging Markets Scholarship to students at the new Singapore campus. The scholarship is aimed at giving students every opportunity to maximise their potential and is currently already offered to promising LSBF students in the UK. The scholarship has benefited 120 students in the UK and will consider graduates from emerging markets with proven academic skills who demonstrate leadership potential in a global business environment.
In the upcoming months, LSBF will be offering postgraduate and undergraduate courses in Singapore similar to those offered in the UK, adapted to local requirements. Students will have access to all available LSBF facilities including their InterActive platform for online study where they can combine face-to-face interaction with the flexibility of an online programme. They will also receive 24-hour support, access to tutors and the opportunity to network with students from over 150 countries across the world via the Global Live Classroom feature.
Testament to their pursuit in innovation is their Global MBA™ programme which delivered entirely on Facebook. This programme integrates the ubiquity of social media with high quality study material, allowing people to access lectures, course materials, and panel discussion groups on Facebook for free, breaking down the traditional financial and geographical barriers of further education. Individuals are only charged when they decide to be evaluated and certified by the University of Wales.
“A critical aspect of excellence in education is innovation. At LSBF we are geared up to respond with innovation and speed to changing needs and expectations around teaching and learning. As a private institution we have the freedom and agility to make innovation happen in education, and we develop new ways of ensuring that academic content is delivered in a way appropriate to a changing global market. The LSBF offer is relevant academic and professional learning, combined with strong career development opportunities –the best possible offer for both students and employers. We are looking forward to seeing new ways we can promote higher education excellence in Singapore and the region.” – Aaron Etingen, Founder and CEO of London School of Business & Finance
Situated in Raffles Place, the Singapore campus has already attracted strong demand from local students for its ACCA programme with classes already in session.
In line with LSBF’s expansion into the Far East, the school will offer generous bursaries to Singaporean students who have completed their ACCA studies to pursue Master’s degrees online, or in the UK. Such bursaries and scholarships are central to LSBF’s vision of making quality professional and higher education programmes more accessible to students, both in the UK and around the world.
