Pushbullet just announced that after 2 years of being free, they’re finally going to start monetising. Not via the advertising route but by creating a paid subscription tier that goes for USD4.99/month(if you pay monthly) or USD3.33/mth(if you pay annually).
Beyond pricing, the main perks you get from a paid subscription are
– Send files up to 1GB (25MB if you’re on the free plan)
– Up to 100GB Storage space (2GB on the free plan)
– The ability to send unlimited messages(Kik/Whatsapp/SMS/etc) via pushbullet . (100/mth on the free plan)
– Mirrored notification action support
– Universal Copy and Paste
– Priority Support
I think it’s a great move if it allows them to remain sustainable and growing so long as it’s a reasonable price (and I think it is. One cup of coffee a month!)
Personally, the feature that I use the most is the universal copy and paste. And even then I don’t use it often enough. I mainly just ‘push’ URLs and files between my desktop and devices (usually smaller than 10MB.
I guess I won’t be subscribing for it yet. How about you?
