So my name is Ridzuan Ashim. What’s so interesting about me?

Well, I live in this place called Singapore where everything is nice, warm and safe. And everyone seems to think the same way. And that can be quite scary sometimes.

I do lots of things from software development to entertainment. I also support the concept of sustainable development in business which means that I don’t really donate money to causes but i’d much rather spend time and money to build a system that will eventually help people sustain themselves. Heard of “give a man a fish and you feed him for day. Teach him how to fish and feed him for a lifetime.”? Well, that’s pretty much what I believe in.

Once in a while, I also do freelance application development(web and otherwise) working in the following languages/frameworks/CMS-es. usually my company handles it though:-

- CakePHP
- WordPress
- Joomla

In an attempt to give back to society, for every project after I’ve made enough to cover operational cost, I lend USD$25 to Kiva. What Kiva then does loans it to a borrower of my choice so that they may start their own businesses that service their neighbourhood. I find this a great way to contribute back because you’re not just helping one person, you’re also helping job creation which eventually should help to better their standards of living. And the best part? It’s a loan so eventually after they return the money, I can re-loan it to help someone else.
